About Eddie Tsuru
With more than 25 years of teaching experience, Eddie studied with studio legend Chuck Rainey (Steely Dan, Quincy Jones, Aretha Franklin) and master bassist Jeff Castleman (Duke Ellington, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Ella).
Eddie teaches all styles, from beginner to advanced. Excel on the bass by learning good technique, theory, groove, soloing, and improvising.
Former students of Eddie’s have pursed music careers, appeared on Dave Letterman Show, toured with national recording artists, and are pursuing graduate degrees in some of the world’s most prestigious music colleges.
Personal playing experience: Eddie has worked with Drifters, Dave Walker (lead vocalist with Savoy Brown, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath), Ron Strykert (Grammy winner Men at Work), Tracy Nelson (two time Grammy nominee) , The Platters, Eric Funk (Grammy nominee), Minnesota Blues Band (which included Prince’s horn section), Ignacio Berroa (jazz legend), Deep Banana Horns (Allman Bros, Derek Trucks, Govt Mule), Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show, Eric Kalb (Greyboy Allstars, John Schofield), Jack Walrath (Mingus), Bob Braye (Miles Davis, Pharaoh Sanders), Bob Nell, Joey Gian, Andrew Gromiller, Gaynelle Neville, Ric Parnell (Spinal Tap, Atomic Rooster), Bob Packwood (Blue Rodeo), Jeni Fleming, John Bohlinger (bandleader of “Nashville Star” TV show), and Meagan Mullins (Nashville Artist, Shakira).

Bass Amplifier and playback equipment are provided at studio. Just bring your bass, strap, and a notebook.
