Clarinet and Piano
Dr. Kimberly Wester is a clarinet and piano instructor, and chamber ensemble coach. Previously, she has served as an Adjunct Clarinet Instructor at Montana State University; Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington; Music Education Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Idaho, which included a year as the Graduate Assistant Concert Band Director; Flathead Lake Music Camp clarinet faculty; Red Lodge Music Festival teaching assistant and counselor; and is a former public school band, choir and junior high general music teacher. Her past and present clarinet students have earned top positions in public school and college ensembles, and have been selected to perform in the Montana High School Association All-State Band.
Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Montana State University; Master of Music in Clarinet Performance, and a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of Idaho Lionel Hampton School of Music; and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Clarinet Performance from the University of Washington School of Music. She has performed in the Bozeman Symphony, Butte Symphony, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, Montana Ballet Company Orchestra, The Verge Theater musical orchestra, Lucia Neare’s Theatrical Wonders in Seattle, Montana State University Faculty Chamber Players, Intermountain Opera/Montana Shakespeare in the Parks musical orchestra, Red Lodge Music Festival Faculty/Staff Jazz Ensemble, and community musicals in Montana and Idaho.
Kimberly teaches beginning through advanced clarinet lessons, and beginning through early advanced piano lessons. She also offers clarinet master classes, coaches chamber ensembles, and prepares students for auditions and music festivals.
